You will need to apply for ETIAS as soon as 2022

The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will become active in 2022. Until then, U.S. citizens may continue short-term travel to the Schengen Area with a U.S. passport. Once the ETIAS travel waiver system is active, travelers will need both an approved ETIAS waiver along with a passport to be eligible for visa-free travel into and throughout the Schengen Zone. Having ETIAS approval saves time as the approval alleviates the need to visit embassies or consulates to obtain a visa as ETIAS is a visa waiver.

The ETIAS Europe application collects traveler information for a central database aimed at creating safer Europe. The ETIAS Europe application is designed to provide critical information for prescreening and approval or follow up. The data collected and processed about each applicant determines their eligibility and ascertains any migration, health or security risks. Once an applicant is approved their ETIAS visa waiver becomes effective immediately.

You will be able to apply for a ETIAS Visa Travel Wavier here on Etias-Europe.us once the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is activated. Required information in the application will include passport information, reason for travel, health questions and other basic questions. Applicants will need to have their passport information, a valid email address and a credit or debit card available for processing.

When you apply it is important that you carefully consider each question and answer in complete truth. The accuracy of the information you provide on your application is critical. Even small errors will lead to an application being denied. To help ensure your application is correct, our team will be here to assist you if you have any questions before completing and submitting your application. Once you submit your application via our easy to use form, our ETIAS specialists will review your applications for any mistakes.

A response to your ETIAS application happens quickly usually taking 24 hours or less. In a few instances processing can take up to 4 days.

Possible Responses include:

Approved – Approval means you are ETIAS approved. You may travel to the Schengen Area per the ETIAS guidelines, effective the moment you are approved.

Pending – A “pending” reply indicates your application is in process. In this instance an answer may take from 1-4 days.

Denied – If your ETIAS Application is denied you will need a traditional visa to travel to the Schengen Area of the EU.

With your approved ETIAS you may travel to and between any countries in the Schengen Zone for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

ETIAS Expiration and Renewal

The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) approval is completely digital; once you are approved your visa waiver will be active. Your ETIAS approval is valid for 3 years or until your current passport expires, whichever comes first. You may submit a new ETIAS application online up to 90 days before your ETIAS Visa Waiver expires.
